Kiswahili is an important language subject taught at King’s College, Budo, contributing to the College’s commitment to providing a broad and globally relevant education. The school has a dedicated Kiswahili Department, currently headed by Mr. Karuhanga Herbert, and Kiswahili is offered within the language curriculum at both Ordinary and Advanced Levels.
Through the study of Kiswahili, students develop their skills in speaking, reading, writing, listening and comprehension, while gaining a deeper appreciation of East African culture and communication. As one of the major languages of the East African region, Kiswahili gives Budonians an opportunity to communicate across cultural and national boundaries and prepares them for wider opportunities in education, leadership, business and regional engagement. The subject also complements the College’s mission of providing all-round quality secondary education through teaching and learning.
