ABOUT BUDO

A Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 1906, King's College Budo stands as one of Uganda's oldest and most prestigious secondary schools, with a rich heritage of academic excellence and character formation.

Established on March 29, 1906, on land generously donated by the Kabaka of Buganda, King's College Budo became one of the first centers for higher education in the country and the first mixed-sex institution of higher learning in Uganda when it admitted girls in 1934. We remain one of the oldest and most respected secondary schools in East Africa, guided by our enduring motto: "Gakyali Mabaga"—So little done, so much more to do.
