History at King’s College, Budo

History is an important subject taught at King’s College, Budo, providing students with an opportunity to understand the events, people, societies and ideas that have shaped Uganda, Africa and the wider world. The College has a dedicated History Department headed by Mrs. Kizza Robinah Wasajja.

Through History, students develop critical thinking, research, analysis and interpretation skills as they examine the causes and consequences of major historical events. The subject also helps learners appreciate Uganda’s rich heritage and understand the historical development of their communities and nation. Studying History at Budo is particularly meaningful given the College’s own long and distinguished heritage: founded on 29 March 1906, Budo has played an important role in Uganda’s educational history and has produced generations of leaders.

The study of History therefore goes beyond remembering dates and events; it encourages Budonians to learn from the past, understand the present and make informed decisions that can contribute to the future of their school, country and the wider world.
