Christian Religious Education (CRE) is an important subject taught at King’s College, Budo, reflecting the College’s strong Christian heritage and commitment to developing students of good character, integrity and faith. The school’s CRE Department is headed by Mrs. Elizabeth Nuwagaba, and the subject forms an important part of the academic programme.
Through CRE, students study the Bible, the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, Christian values, morality, faith and the relevance of Christianity to everyday life. The subject encourages learners to develop qualities such as honesty, compassion, respect, responsibility and service to others. It also helps students think critically about moral and social issues and make responsible decisions. This complements Budo’s emphasis on the Fear of God, integrity and respect, which are among the College’s core values.
CRE therefore contributes significantly to the holistic education of Budonians by nurturing not only academic ability but also spiritual growth, character formation, leadership and responsible citizenship.
