On Sunday, 1st March, King’s College Budo marked a historic milestone with the commissioning of a state of the art 38 classroom e learning block, a transformative addition that underscores the school’s enduring commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
The new facility, named in honour of Ssekabaka Daudi Chwa II, was officially commissioned by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, during a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries, clergy, alumni, staff, and students. The occasion blended tradition and progress, reflecting the institution’s deep historical roots and forward-looking vision.
In his remarks, the Katikkiro applauded Headmaster Canon John Fred Kazibwe for his steadfast dedication to preserving the school’s rich legacy while boldly steering it into the future. He commended the leadership for honouring history in a manner that inspires generations of young women and men who pass through the gates of King’s College Budo.
The thanksgiving service was presided over by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, who lauded Canon Kazibwe and the school administration for what he described as a remarkable achievement. He emphasized the importance of faith, vision, and collective effort in shaping institutions that stand the test of time.
The newly commissioned block houses 38 classrooms and will accommodate the largest share of the school’s academic programmes. Equipped with modern e-learning facilities, the building is designed to enhance digital literacy, expand access to contemporary educational resources, and create an interactive learning environment suited to the demands of the 21st century.
